Fife might not have the Highlands, but it’s quietly become a brilliant destination for mountain biking. From forest singletrack to challenging gravel climbs, here are some of our favourite rides on our doorstep.

1. Devilla Forest, Clackmannanshire (just over the Forth)

A short drive from Leslie, Devilla offers a network of waymarked trails through pine forest. It’s a great spot for riders of all abilities and a perfect place to test out a new hardtail.

2. Lochore Meadows Country Park

Right in the heart of Fife, Lochore Meadows has open paths around the loch that are ideal for family rides and riders building confidence. The terrain is flatter but hugely enjoyable.

3. Benarty Hill

For something more adventurous, the tracks around Benarty Hill offer technical climbing and fast descents with views across Loch Leven. Best suited to confident riders on a full-suspension bike.

4. East Neuk Coastal Paths

For gravel riders and those who love scenic routes, the East Neuk coastline offers stunning riding along quiet roads and paths between Elie, Anstruther, and Crail. Pack a snack — you’ll want to stop and take it all in.
