How to Buy Your Next Bike Through the Cycle2Work Scheme (and Save Up to 47%)
If you’ve been thinking about getting a new bike, the Cycle2Work scheme could save you a significant amount of money — and it’s simpler than you might think. Here’s everything you need to know about using it at Mighty Cycles in Fife.
What is the Cycle2Work Scheme?
Cycle2Work is a UK government initiative that lets employees buy a bike and accessories tax-free through their employer. Because the payments come out of your salary before tax and National Insurance, you typically save between 32% and 47% depending on your tax bracket.
Both standard bikes and e-bikes qualify, along with safety equipment, clothing, and accessories.
How Does It Work?
- Check that your employer is signed up to a Cycle2Work provider (such as Cycle Scheme, Green Commute Initiative, or similar)
- Choose your bike and accessories from Mighty Cycles
- Request a voucher from your employer for the value of your purchase
- Bring the voucher in-store or contact us to redeem it
- Your employer deducts the cost from your salary in monthly instalments, tax-free
What Can You Buy?
At Mighty Cycles, the scheme applies to bikes, e-bikes, helmets, locks, lights, and cycling clothing. We stock an extensive range including Scott bikes, ASSOS apparel, Oakley glasses, and Fox protection gear.
